Memorial Day Rain

Well, we had a great memorial day. It was filled with working out, friends, BBQ, and Rain!  It rained nearly all day. By the end of our BBQ dinner it stopped (of course) and at that point kre was so sick of being in the house that I decided to take him outside to walk around. Then I decided that we should take advantage of the puddles and if we were going to do that, it was only fair that Brig and Bard join us. So here are the pictures. And yes I am dry, I didn't partake I just encouraged and took pictures!

Tornado

Well, today was an interesting day. Let me go back first to last week where I had a talk with Brig about Tornado's. He was wondering about them and asking how you handle them when you are in one. So I explained all of the fun facts of tornado's and then said at the end of the conversation how Colorado doesn't get tornado's and you don't need to worry about them. Boy did he call me on that today.  We experienced our first tornado storm today. It was very creepy to say the least. We were very fortunate not to be hit, sadly the town right next to us was destroyed and others in the surrounding area.  I didn't get any picture and kick myself now, but I think my friend did and I will post them if I get them soon. So we are all fine and hope not to have to worry about that again!

Last Game

Today was Brig's last soccer game. He did a great job and was so proud of his trophy. 

Purse Party!

Yesterday I went to a purse party. It was a lot of fun just hanging out and trying on purses. So after trying on a dozen or so this is the one everyone thought looked the best. It's a little different for me but I think I like it.... Metallic is suppose to be the latest think so at least I'm in the now. I really wanted to go with a cute Juicy couture bag but, I decided that I couldn't justify spending that much money on a purse.

Fathers & Sons Campout

It just so happened that the Fathers & Sons Campout fell on a weekend that I was in Colorado. This was Kre's first campout and he loved it. It started with McDonalds in the car in Estes CO, setting up the tent in the rain, and very cold temperatures that night (27 degrees). Luckily the boys had their sleeping bags, Grandma's quilts, and hats to keep them warm. We had a great evening visiting with friends, Kre and I went on a walk while Brig ran around like a wild man with his friends. The temps dropped quick and the boys got a lesson about insulation layers, stuffing your clothes in the bottom of your bag, and falling asleep in the rain. I loved every minute of it. Makes all the work worth it.

On my way...

Well, I finally can run long distances again. (which in my mind would never happen) Yesterday I ran my first 16 miler. I was pretty excited to say the least. I did it in 2h 36 min. which works out to be about a 9' 48 pace, so I was really excited about that too. I know it's not nearly as exciting as 35 but not all of us are crazy like Bard. (I love you Bard)  Anyway that's all. I was just so excited that I thought I would share it with everyone.  :)
